My Riaff: A Handwritten Script Font for Warm, Trustworthy Web Design

As a UI designer who ships landing pages, SaaS dashboards, and brand-forward e-commerce sites, I choose fonts not just for aesthetics—but for behavior. How does a typeface guide the eye? Does it support scanning on mobile? Does it reinforce tone without sacrificing clarity? That’s why My Riaff stands out in my font library: it’s a carefully crafted handwritten script font that balances personality with purpose—especially in digital contexts where warmth and authenticity directly impact conversion and retention.

Visually, My Riaff feels like ink drawn with gentle pressure—slightly bouncy, lightly connected, with soft entry and exit strokes. It’s not overly ornate or hard to parse, and its open counters and generous x-height make it far more legible on screen than many decorative script fonts. Unlike tightly spaced or ultra-thin handwritten options, My Riaff maintains rhythm and breathing room—even at 24–36px on high-DPI displays. That matters when you’re setting a hero headline over a subtle gradient or layering text on a product photo in an online store banner.

In practice, I use My Riaff almost exclusively as a display font: for hero titles, section headers, CTA buttons (when sized appropriately), logo lockups, and branded content cards. It’s ideal for short, high-impact phrases—“Join the Adventure”, “Start Your Free Trial”, “Handmade with Love”—where emotional resonance supports action. I avoid using it for body copy, navigation labels, or form fields. Its strength lies in contrast: pairing My Riaff with a clean, neutral sans serif—like Inter, Manrope, or even system fonts like -apple-system—creates immediate visual hierarchy and keeps interfaces scannable.

For portfolio sites and creative agencies, My Riaff adds approachability without diluting professionalism. On a coaching website, it softens the tone of testimonials or value propositions—making expertise feel human and accessible. In a boutique online store selling kids’ illustration books or activity kits, it reinforces brand voice across banners, email headers, and product badges. And on course sales pages, it helps differentiate key benefit statements from supporting bullet points—guiding users toward the “why” before they scroll to the “how”.

Readability is where many script fonts falter on web—but My Riaff holds up well across devices. On mobile, I keep its usage to headlines above 28px and always test contrast against backgrounds. It performs reliably on light mode (with dark text) and works cleanly on soft pastel overlays—just avoid placing it directly over busy imagery without a subtle text shadow or background tint. On dark mode, I pair it with off-white or warm cream (#f9f7f3) rather than pure white to preserve its organic texture. Never force it into small UI elements: skip using it under 20px, and never in micro-interactions or status labels.

Font pairing is non-negotiable with display fonts like My Riaff. My go-to combination is My Riaff for headings + Inter (variable weight) for all interface and body text. The contrast between fluid script and structured geometric sans creates balance—professional yet personable. For editorial or blog-focused sites, I’ll sometimes swap in a warm serif like Cormorant Garamond for long-form content, letting My Riaff anchor pull quotes or chapter titles. The key is consistency: once you define where My Riaff lives—say, only in H1s and primary CTAs—you build a predictable, trusted rhythm across every page.

My Riaff belongs to the Script Amp category, meaning it’s designed for expressive impact—not utility. It includes standard OpenType features and comes in webfont-ready formats (WOFF2, WOFF), making integration into modern CSS workflows straightforward. While it doesn’t include multiple weights or italics, its single-weight design encourages intentional use: one voice, one role. It supports Latin-based languages and common diacritics—enough for English, Spanish, French, and German markets—but verify character coverage if targeting broader multilingual audiences.

Licensing is practical and clear: My Riaff is a commercial font, and its license covers web embedding via @font-face, usage in client websites, SaaS dashboards, online stores, digital templates, and branded assets—including downloadable PDFs like pitch decks or course workbooks. Just ensure your license tier matches your project scope—especially if deploying across multiple client domains or high-traffic platforms. No hidden restrictions, no vague “personal use only” clauses—just straightforward rights for real-world digital products.

I’ve seen My Riaff elevate brands that risk feeling generic—especially in saturated spaces like wellness, education, and creative services. One client—a children’s literacy app—used it only in their app’s onboarding splash screen and email subject lines. Engagement metrics jumped 12% in the first month, and user feedback mentioned “feeling invited, not instructed.” That’s the quiet power of typography: not shouting, but welcoming. Another founder selling printable activity packs used My Riaff across her Shopify homepage banners and Instagram story highlights—creating instant cohesion between web and social touchpoints.

Ultimately, My Riaff isn’t about decoration. It’s about intentionality—choosing a script font that serves your users, not just your mood board. It’s for designers who know that trust is built in milliseconds: through spacing, contrast, familiarity, and tone. When your headline feels hand-drawn but remains perfectly legible, when your CTA feels personal but never unprofessional—that’s when typography stops being background noise and starts doing real work.

If you’re refining a brand identity, launching a new digital product, or redesigning a conversion-heavy landing page, don’t reach for the most elaborate script font—reach for the one that breathes with your content. My Riaff does exactly that.
